Biographical Description
When superintendent E.C. Thompson resigned on August 8, 1887, the board of education selected Mr. Warren C. Hull as his successor; he subsequently served here for eleven years. Hull had attended the public schools in Constantine, and in June 1884, graduated from the State Normal School at Ypsilanti. Hull had served as superintendent for three years at the Birmingham Union Schools before coming to Albion. His daughter Helen Hull was born here and subsequently became a famous American novelist and author.
With the opening of the 1898-99 school year, the Albion Public Schools hired its first "full time" superintendent, William J. McKone, who replaced Warren D. Hull. Hull had resigned to become superintendent at the Flint Public Schools.
