With its beginnings as a secret society called the I.S.C. (Impromptu Speaking Club), Alpha Pi chapter of Sigma Chi was installed at Albion in 1886. The house shown here was built in 1889 and was located at 1100 E. Cass Street. It was the first fraternity house erected specifically to house fraternity members at Albion. During WWII the house was called the Interfraternity and Independent Hall. Source: Alby Zatkoff, 2002.
